Bill
is a retired Machine Repairman from Autolite Honeywell and owns
his own machine shop. He is a self-taught facetor starting in 1973.
Upon retirement in 2004 he became more involved with his faceting
and started teaching privately. 2008 was his first year teaching
at William Holland.
This beginner faceting class
will cover what you need to know to facet a stone. We will be using
the book by David Corn. You will be taught to facet, dop with wax,
stone transfer and many techniques. The first stone will be a round
brilliant of quartz. After you finish your first stone you can purchase
different material and cut other designs.
LAB FEE: A $35 to $45 includes
the cost of the first stone, supplies, and the book. Optivisor or
equivalent magnifier is needed for this class. This can be purchased
at the school if needed.
