Ben, a SFMS Past President, holds
the title of F.G.A. (Fellow Gemological Association of Great Britain),
has a Certificate in Diamond Grading & Evaluation issued by
GIA, and is a Senior Gemologist from Accredited Gemologists Association.
He is a member of the Central NC Mineral Club in Chapel, NC and
the Pendleton District Gem and Mineral Society in Seneca, SC, the
Tri-State Lapidary Club in Benson, NC and holds a Master Craftsman
certificate in faceting.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
In Ben's class, students will
learn procedures used in the proper identification of gemstones
in an interesting and stress-free atmosphere. Instruments used include
the binocular microscope, refractometer, polariscope, and dichroscope.
NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY.
LAB FEE: There is $15.00 lab
fee for this class to cover instrument maintenance.
