Mary Ann and Ken have been involved
in the creation of art and craft items for more than 30 years. They
have worked in many media, mostly three-dimensional. Mary Ann has
been a potter and has been as a studio jeweler since 1996. She has
worked almost exclusively with silver clay. Mary Ann has trained
in Japan in the use of silver clay and is a Master Instructor for
silver clay in the U.S. As Director of Education for PMC Connection,
she has written the core curriculum for their Certification program.
Ken concentrates on making chains and the use of silver clay for
the creation of jewelry. Both Mary Ann and Ken have taught jewelry
design and creation around the U.S., as well as in Canada, Europe,
South Africa, Australia and Japan. Their first book, Introduction
to Precious Metal Clay, was published in 2002 by Wardell Publications.
Their second book, Precious Metal Clay in Mixed Media, was released
in 2004. Both are in their third printing. Their third book, Exceptional
Works in Metal Clay and Glass, was released in 2008. Mary Ann and
Ken believe in making an effort toward continual growth through
education. Questions about their class may be e-mailed to them at

CLASS DESCRIPTION
PMC Level I
Join Mary Ann and Ken for a full
week of PMC excitement. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS CLASS HAS BEEN
OFFERED AT THIS LOCATION. The PMC Connection Certification Level
3 is a new class. It presents advanced techniques using the 3 types
of PMC 3 (clay type, paste and syringe). The workshop is open to
those who have completed Level 2 Certification in PMC or Art Clay
Silver. The class takes the student beyond the projects of Levels
1 and 2 to even more complex projects. The goal of the class is
to make the student comfortable with advanced silver clay techniques
for making, firing and finishing, using just 2 projects. As with
the prior classes, the techniques are very specific but the students
are encouraged to explore personal creativity in their designs.
This more advanced understanding of PMC will offer an expanded base
for the student to use PMC more extensively. We encourage students
who successfully complete the course to teach general PMC classes,
demonstrate and share this new experience.
LAB FEE: Class kits contain all
of the PMC supplies and hand tools needed to complete this workshop.
The cost is approximately $225.00
Maximum No. of Students: 12
Pre-requisite: completion of
Certification Level 1 and Level 2
