Vickie is a member of Georgia Goldsmith Group, Florida Society of Goldsmiths and the North Carolina Society of Goldsmiths. Vickie completed a one-year apprenticeship with a goldsmith from Germany in the Atlanta area. She has taught beginning silversmithing at Wildacres for the Eastern Federation for several years. Vickie continues to and attends workshops in metal techniques with several known masters always learning new techniques to pass along to her students. Vickie designs and creates jewelry using silver and gold metals in combination with stones that she cuts herself. She started teaching at William Holland in 1997.


 

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Students will learn how to reticulate sterling and reticulation silver to achieve creative, interesting, and unique surface designs. Students will learn to make granules from fine silver wire and then fuse them to the surface of the reticulated silver for further design elements. Students will learn to tube set stones and also make their own setting tool.

The tools list will be e-mailed to the students two weeks before class.

CLASS FEE -There is a lab fee of $35 to cover the cost of handouts and other items provided by the instructor. The cost of this class will depend on the price of silver.
