Vickie is a member of Georgia
Goldsmith Group, Florida Society of Goldsmiths and the North Carolina
Society of Goldsmiths. Vickie completed a one-year apprenticeship
with a Goldsmith from Germany in the Atlanta area. She has taught
beginning silversmithing at Wildacres for the Eastern Federation
for several years and has attended classes there. Vickie has attended
workshops in metal techniques with several known masters. Vickie
designs and creates jewelry in silver and gold using these metals
in combination with each other. She started teaching at William
Holland in 1997.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
The first day we will cover the
proper use of basic tools and some alternative tools. Students will
learn about soldering, sawing, filing, and polishing, just to cover
a few of the things we will be discussing and practicing.
The instructor will have the materials for each project kit assembled
for students in order to save some time in class. We will be making
a ring with a cabochon setting, a revolving ring, a "no solder"
clasp bracelet, a pendant with a cabochon setting and time permitting,
a scrap bracelet.
CLASS FEE -Lab fee of $30.00
to cover hand-outs, solder, misc items provided to students by instructor.
Cost of this class will be approx, $100 to $150 for materials.
